How to Use Your SG Culture Pass for a Chinese Tea Culture Experience in Singapore
If you have SG Culture Pass credits, you may now use them for a different kind of cultural experience in Singapore — a calm, guided Chinese tea heritage session at OVP TEA.
Our programme, Tea, Heritage & Everyday Culture in Singapore, is a 90-minute in-person experience hosted at our tea room in Singapore.
It is designed for beginners, families, friends, and working adults who want to experience Chinese tea as part of everyday life — without needing to study tea formally.
This is not a professional tea course.
It is a simple way to sit down, slow down, and experience how tea connects people through hospitality, memory, culture, and daily living.
What Is the SG Culture Pass?
SG Culture Pass gives eligible Singapore citizens credits to enjoy local arts, heritage, and cultural experiences in Singapore. The credits can be used for eligible programmes through authorised ticketing partners. Pelago is one of the authorised ticketing partners for SG Culture Pass bookings.
For our tea heritage experience, booking and SG Culture Pass credit redemption are completed through Pelago.
You do not pay OVP TEA directly for SG Culture Pass bookings.
Can I Bring Someone With Me?
Yes.
You may use your SG Culture Pass credits to purchase tickets for others, including friends and family, as long as the total cost remains within your available credit balance. If the total amount exceeds your available credits, you may top up the difference using other accepted payment methods.
This makes the experience especially suitable for:
- a parent and adult child
- couples
- friends
- relatives visiting Singapore
- family members who want to spend time together
- small groups looking for a meaningful cultural activity
Instead of another meal or coffee, this is a quieter way to gather.
What Happens During the 90-Minute Session?
During the session, participants will be guided through:
- Chinese tea culture and everyday hospitality
- the role of tea in family, friendship, and social settings
- selected Chinese teaware
- simple hands-on brewing
- shared tea tasting
- how tea creates a slower, calmer way to connect with people
No prior tea knowledge is required.
You do not need to know tea names, tea categories, brewing techniques, or Chinese tea history before attending.
Just come, sit down, and experience tea in a guided setting.
Is This a Tea Class?
Not in the formal sense.
This is not a certification course, technical tea training, or professional brewing class.
It is a cultural experience.
The focus is not on memorising tea facts.
The focus is on experiencing tea as part of everyday culture — how people gather, serve, share, listen, and slow down through tea.
Who Is This Experience Suitable For?
This experience is suitable for people who:
- want to use their SG Culture Pass credits meaningfully
- are new to Chinese tea
- prefer a calm cultural experience rather than a formal class
- want to bring a friend, parent, partner, or family member
- are looking for a different weekend activity in Singapore
- enjoy heritage, culture, and simple shared moments
It is also suitable for existing OVP TEA customers who want to return to the tea room and experience tea in a more guided setting.

A Simple Way to Gather Over Tea
Tea does not have to be complicated.
Sometimes, the most meaningful experience is simply to sit down with someone, share a few cups of tea, and discover a slower way to spend time together.
If your SG Culture Pass credits are still unused, this may be a simple and meaningful way to use them.
